“EXCUSES” narrative cycle continues, with new challenges and …new languages!
The subject
Each year the Nativity in the Well offers a new setting with an ever-changing theme, mixing sacred texts and traditions, historical truths and timeless myths.
The one recurring theme, albeit with ever-changing set-ups, is the Angel, who returns every 5 years.
The 35th edition will thus be narrated by the brightest of all angels, the favorite of the Almighty.
The Morning Angel
“Lightbearer”, or “Lucifer”: the beloved among all angels, so beautiful and luminous that he tried to defy his own creator.
You all know that he was cast out of heaven to end up in the dreary bowels of hell. But do you really know what this has to do with the birth of Jesus?
We will try to let that rebellious angel tell you directly.
The Excluded
The cycle of “The Excluded Ones,” where the Nativity is narrated by characters who did not witness it, also represents a turning point in the setting up and conception of the Nativity in the Well: the scenes in the basement are in fact enriched by contemporary installations, to emphasize the topicality of unusual but decidedly engaging stories and themes. Yet another bet for an event that has never stopped renewing itself.
