37th Nativity in the Well
«THE RIGHT HAND MAN»
“EXCUSES” narrative cycle continues, with new challenges and …new languages!
The subject
Every year, the Nativity in the Well offers a new display with an ever-changing theme, blending sacred texts and traditions, historical truths, and timeless myths.
In its 37th edition, it will be Joseph the carpenter’s apprentice, his faithful right-hand man, who will reveal some of the secrets of the Holy Family of Nazareth.
The faithful helper
What could Joseph’s faithful assistant, who remained in Nazareth to run the workshop when his master left for Egypt, possibly tell us? Why did Joseph not want him to follow him to Bethlehem for the census and send him back to Galilee? What secrets can that boy reveal to us about that mysterious birth and the events that surrounded it? We’ll find out in the Presepe nel Pozzo 2026-27!
The Excluded
The cycle of “The Excluded Ones,” where the Nativity is narrated by characters who did not witness it, also represents a turning point in the setting up and conception of the Nativity in the Well: the scenes in the basement are in fact enriched by contemporary installations, to emphasize the topicality of unusual but decidedly engaging stories and themes. Yet another challenge for an increasingly immersive event that never ceases to reinvent itself.
